http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_5.gif We've actually got a beautiful day here in the Catskills, and my bike is parked; without brakes, and awaiting it's first ride on a trailer to the dealer! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_5.gif
Thank goodness that there's some NASCAR racing coming on to kill off a portion of the afternoon...http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_5.gif

I'm definitely going to ask and see if they've got a loaner laying around gathering dust... :gaah:
Being "De-Spydered" is more uncomfortable than a combination IRS audit, and root canal surgery being done by an escapee from the prison for the criminally-insane! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_4_132.gif http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_11_1.gif

I thought you all did farkeling in the winter months when ryding is limited. I know you had this golden opportunity while the other half was away to sneak in a farkel but perhaps your time was to short haste makes waste..:roflblack: But am saddened that you are now limited to watching others riding around in circles...:roflblack: Will think about you on the road...!!

So what is the matter with your brakes? Today I'd actually trade you - you can ride my Spyder the 250 mile round trip to St. George, UT in 109 degree heat that I have to do this afternoon and I'll sit in the A/C.

It's not actually the brakes; it's the little $32 microswitch that handles the brakelights...
Mine came apart... leaving the brakelights on!
We all know what Nanny thinks about brakelights being on...:lecturef_smilie:
So in imy infinite wisdom; I pulled the connecting rod from the pedal to the bellcrank and shut them off...
Leaving me with absolutely no brakes whatsoever
Now it gets really interesting... and almost funny! (ALMOST!)
I borrow a trailer, and park it and the truck that's anchoring it, down in my yard so as to reduce the ramp angle and give a bit of a downhill path...
I roll the bike out of the garage
I start it up so as to make for easier maneuveing and lining-up...
In gear; the bike is "creeping"faster than my comfort zone can assimilate...
I shut it off...
IN GEAR!!
How do you start a bike that's in first gear?
you press on the brakes...
Which are completely disconnected! :yikes:
So now I'm left with pushing an unconscious elephant up a ramp! :gaah:

it could be like here, 90 degrees, sunshine, humid, not a breeze anywhere and thunder echoing thru the trees and my Spyder parked in the garage all morning long.

What have you done to your brakes? Is this an after installing heat shield event?

Don't you a 5 ton come a long and a tow strap hanging on the wall in your garage? I thought everyone in NY did?

Well..
At least it's on the trailer... http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_5.gif
I put up an S.O.S. for Sonny-Boy and his strong back...
Between the three of us and a good head start; we were able to push it up on the trailer...
Not running, and still in first gear.
(I never COULD figure out that whole exercise on page 136 in the manual.)
Tied down; covered up, and ready to go!http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_5.gif

These full BRP covers fit like they're painted on, and have a bunch of straps; is it okay to trailer at sub-55 mph speeds with them? :dontknow:

Bob,

I would not trailer a bike of any kind with a cover on. The wind will make it flap like flag in a hurricane...
and the cover may hurt your feelings when you take it off and see the damage.

I think it's time for you to trade that baby in and get that RTS being sold for $18K, Bob.

Sorry you're without ryding. I'll think of you while I'm on the road to MV!
