I've only had my Spyder for less than a week and everywhere I go there are questions......some make sense... others have me wondering.... I am a HUGE water drinker and am never without my refillable, no spilling water bottle.... until now. I had to pull over to have a couple shots of H2O. Any suggestions? ;)

Do yourself a favor, buy a decent cup holder. Baker air wings has a nice chrome cup holder. Glassact .com has the butler cup holder and mug. Don't go cheap, buy one that looks and is good.

Go to Ebay, they have drink holders on there. I got one for about $20 and free shipping.

I love my Butler!!! 69356 It's not your cheaper choice, but it is well made, includes the 32oz mug made for us rYders and a sip lid as well. You can also remove the lid and place your water bottle or soda can. My wife has one on her RS-S and has not looked back!

I have a cup holder but you will need a long straw if you have a full coverage helmet. OR, you could go with a Hydration BackPak. Fill it with ice cubes and water in the hot weather.

I disagree. I went cheap and have an excellent cup holder.

I removed the clamp and used a longer screw to attach it to the top mounting screw on my right handlebar cluster. I got a longer screw and then cut a black piece of plastic tubing to make a spacer, (which you'll adjust the length at the end to make the cup holder vertical). I then wrapped a black ziptie around the lower vertical of the cup holder andthen ran another black ziptie around the handlbar, next to the cluster, looping it through the ziptie on the cup holder. Tightened both and it is solid.

You can buy a lot of gas for the price of a Butler.

Cruzr Joe

Did I go cheap? Nope!

For me it was a choice of whether I wanted it on full time or just when I needed it. That goes for the back seater too.

So, it's not cheap....it IS flexible. And, that flexibility works perfect for me.

To each his own.

Sorry Mark... that may be a true statement regarding the price, but I like the clean install of the Butler. Plus like someone mentioned, with the swagman you are limitted to what you place there... 16 oz bottles. I get the nice mug with a sturdy lid and straw (make sure you snap the lid or it will fly away like it happened to Leira).

My RT is at the dealer, so I cannot get a picture of it, which, of course, is the one I described. Below is a picture of my wife's '08 GS & the same type cup holder I installed using the clamp.

Honest disagreement, which is good. I don't care for the bulk of the Butler, nor the excessive price. When I get a picture of the install on my RT, you'll see it is a very clean and simple install. The zipties are positioned in ways that make them blend into the handlebar. In fact, your eye would likely not even notice it unless you knew to look for it. The ziptie runs in a seam between the black cluster and the silver handlebar, so does not stand out. (By the way, it'll also hold a 20 oz bottle! ;))
