Has anyone figured out a way to disconnect the speed governor so the bike can go faster than the limited 110MPH? ;D

Several test pilots on this forum and others have ridden faster. Apparently the speed limiter nonsense is just a scare tactic.

The only speed limiter I have found was the F1 windshield.... couldn't get her over 112 with it on.

With BRP touring shield... and bending down low I was easily able to hit 123.

How much faster did you need to go?

Apparently the speed governor only applies to the demo models - the production models are only limited to wind resistance.

Well.. technically only having 5 gears is going to be your real limitation.

:agree: YES! - Which brings us back to sacrificing reverse for a 6th forward gear!! I for one would jump at this since reverse is really more of a conversation piece anyway.

Thanks for the responses. I haven't really taken the bike past 100mph since I was worried about the "limiter" kicking in.... But that's going to change now...

Do you guys know if there is a Power Commander that can be used in this bike???

I have not seen one yet... but again.. that isn't gonna give you more speed.

Your RPMs are limited at 10K.. or really 9.5K.

Without more RPMs... you can't go faster since you're stuck with 5 gears.

You can add HP by doing various things... cams.. pistons.. etc..... and you still won't go faster...... you'll only get to the top speed QUICKER.

Make sense?

The speed limit is 75 on most freeways... why would one ever want to go faster than that?
(That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!) ::)

Amen! But then I am speaking as a 77 year old rider with 60 years plus of riding. Going so fast that the telephone poles look like a picket fence was fun 50 years ago, but not now. I just ride along at 60-65 with a big grin on my face. Damn! Ive had a good life!

I know its an older topic already, but I had mine up to 118 mph the other day. Scared the heck out of myself and quite the adrenaline rush... Now that I've done it, I don't see myself doing it again, but no governor that i can tell. I still had throttle left too.

From other posts I've read, it seems like you still had at least 10 MPH left in the throttle. I'm not going to rag on you though as you have gone 25 MPH faster than I have gone or even care to. ;D

I removed my speed limiter...... it's called an F1 shield. ;D

With the F1 I could only hit 112.

With the BRP touring.... 115 - still in 4th gear.... 123 in 5th...and there was more to go... just ran out of pavement.

Top ended my 2014 RT-S at 111mph. I have found that it likes 85-95 in a high speed cruise ( ~ 4300 - 4900 rpm in 6th).

Totally stock for now but I am probably getting a smaller windscreen and dropping the catalytic converter asap.

Has anyone seen what a rider looks like after crashing at 120+ Mph??? I did it at 60 mph, lost half my left leg and crippled my left arm, so speed on brother Hell is only half full.:yikes:

I would never get close to that speed, I'll watch the video though with my seat belt on.:yikes:
