this is the amazing part, when I bought it there was only 3,800 original miles. I think who ever owned just parked it

Enjoy your new ride! Looks sharp and well cared for. If you have as much luck as I've had with my 2008 red GS, you will enjoy many miles of fun! I'm at 56,000 miles on mine and it's been very good to me with very few issues. Maintenance is key!

I just had something odd happen to me on my way home I was on a hill and had loss of power, I could crank on the throttle and nothing would happen. I pulled over and let it sit for a bit and then it started right up any Idea what it could be?

:welcome:With that said my suggestion would be to start a thread in the spyder shop section, and you will get some answers and probably a few more questions as to if you got any codes etc. I am riding up on July 12 th to your neck of the woods, El Dorado Hills and also over to Lafayette & Oakland for 3 days to attend my Aunts 95 th birthday party:yikes::yes::yes: she's got good genes and I video taped her sitting on my spyder after SITR a couple years ago.

what a beautiful area you have to ride in:thumbup:

I did take mine in and BUDS cleared all codes and since than I haven't had a problem, knocking on wood.

Make sure you were not riding the brake. :congrats: you have just become a member of the limp home mode club!

Semi-Stupid question Riding the brake can cause this? and thank you do we have t-shirts or a stickers in this club :)

When you say you cranked the throttle and nothing would happen, was the engine running at 3500 rpm not going any higher?

Riding the brake does not build pressure in the brake system. Over time the computer may think the brakes are not working and put the Spyder in limp mode reducing the rpm down to 3500 max. Stopping and turning off the Spyder will reset the error and your good to go. I did this two times on my RT before I got used to the different brake peddle location compared to GS.

Good luck figuring the problem out.
