BRP Inc. started trading today on the TSX (Toronto Stock Exchange) under the ticker symbol "DOO". The offering was oversubscribed by 3 times and was priced at the upper range of its proposed price of $21.50. It traded 7.4 million shares today and closed at a price of $24.01. Nice one day profit for those who got the shares at the IPO price.

I am guessing the stock will be selling for less in about 30 days or so. After the initial feeding frenzy.

:agree: and lay in waiting. Just hope we're not wrong, tho it's not likely to 'shoot' up.

Too soon for options. After all it is the first day of trading.

So................Bob, are you going to chase down some financials for us to peruse? I note that BRP is on the Canadian stock exchange, so the formating and information may be different from the SEC requirements in the USA.

Bank of Montreal, Royal Bank of Canada, UBS AG and Citigroup Inc. led the sale. The banks have an option to buy an additional 15 percent of the offering after the sale is completed.

I scanned through the prospectus on sedar.com and could not find any information on the number of units sold. But I did not read it in detail. Lots of financial data. I found one interesting statement stating that Spyder sales have increased 24% compounded annually since 2009 and motorcycles of 500 cc and greater have decreased in sales 7% compounded annually in the same time period worldwide.

If they're out in the open; we should be able to find sales numbers now!

The NHTSA quarterly progress reports and other "official" documents between BRP and NHTSA concerning the gas cap recall show 33,668 units sold which presumably means sold in the US and subject to NHTSA oversight. That 33,668 units is the number that were recalled for the gas cap and includes all models, all years 2008 thru 2012 -- GS, RS, RT. Now we need info for north of "the border" as well as outside the US & Canada. But it's a starting point...

Bloomberg showed revenue estimates of between 3.1 and 3.4 billion for YE Jan, 14. and for the same period EPS of between .40 and 1.64 This is a very strong company.

I think it is time for a name change with more descriptive initals. BRP , burp, and DOO , doodoo do not do the fine products justice.
