Went to start the Spyder today after flawless riding after a long weekend. When required to push the mode button, it would not come out of and could not start it. Also no lights came on as normal. Let it sit turned on and it came out of the mode sceen to the main screen. Spyder now started but throwing multiple faults, check engine, check transmission, parking brake failure and still no lights. Has anyone seen this before. Seems like the main computer has crapped out or a loose connection somewhere.

Best bet is low battery voltage, or a loose or corroded battery connection. Check the connections at the battery (inside the bodywork) and check the rear frame ground (negative jumper terminal under the seat) for tightness. Charge the battery and try again. If that takes care of the problem, but it continues to happen, have the Spyder checked for excessive parasitic loss (higher than expected amp draw when turned off), and have the battery checked for its ability to hold a charge.

To add to Scotty's search, I would also check the fuses. When my trailer module when out, I started checking the fuses and mistakenly placed a burnt fuse in the wrong place and it started throwing codes and the lights were going beserk as the OP is describing...

:agree:  When they start flashing like a Parade Float; the battery, and it's connections can often be the culprit! :gaah:
Good Luck; please let us know how this turns out!

Well, found the culprit. Noticed that when i put it away last night the right side front marker light was flickering. Checked the fuses as suggested and found one burnt out. Replaced it and it burnt out immediately. Took the front marker light out earlier but did not notice anything. Took it out again and one of the thin wires on the light that makes the connection inside the holder had broken off and was shorting across the two terminals. These were led replacement marker lights. Cant figure out how the wire could break off and shift while in the holder, but it did. Will look for some led lights with only a circuit board connection instead of the wires.

So maybe a note to others if you have marker lights with the thin wire that makes the connection inside the holder it might break off and cause the same problem. :banghead:

Here's to hoping that finding that one cures the bike!
Thanks for the update!
