Hello all. I am from the Seymour/South Knoxville area. I am in the process of purchasing my first Spyder. I am an avid 4-wheeler but I am ready to get into a new hobby. I have been looking at this one http://www.mtn-motorsportstn.com/new_vehicle_detail.asp?veh=181971&pov=3224805 and wondered if there is anything I need to be looking at/for when purchasing a Spyder?

Thanks and hope to be riding soon.

I would find out if it has an extended warranty. If it has the Best extended warranty you should have up to 2 years of warranty left and that would be a really good thing.

It does have the extended warranty. Anything else that I need to look for?

Dont know what kind of price you are getting on this one, but I sure would shop around some.... there are some amazing deals out there on practically new 2012s.... and trade-in values seem to have dropped like a rock this year. A friend of mine was recently offered only $10k for his 2010 RT on a new 2013 at full price!

2010 Blue RTS(Premier Edition). Someone has things mixed up. Someone may have put a (PE) seat on a 2010 RTS, or had a Black (PE) painted Blue, because they did not build any Blue (PE)'s.

A 2013 would run you around 23 - 29,000. Call Pitbull Powersports in Springfield Missouri and talk to Len 417 863-1418. He also has some that have been traded in and might be able to save you some money.:chat:

Make sure all updates and recalls were made (can check by vin number). See if you can get a (buds) printout and check basics tires, belt, fluids, last service..but agree you should shop around...good luck..!!

from the forum rants here the 2010 rt had a lot of issues being first year run might want a 2011 also might ask to see the maintenance records for this one to see if it has been in a lot for problems

good luck on your purchase on whichever you choose

2010 Blue RTS(Premier Edition). Someone has things mixed up. Someone may have put a (PE) seat on a 2010 RTS, or had a Black (PE) painted Blue, because they did not build any Blue (PE)'s.

Attached from an article reviewing the 2010 RT's.
The 2010 Can-Am road tourer is available in three versions. The 2010 RT comes in one color, Full Moon Silver, and has a manual transmission. The 2010 RT Audio & Convenience version is offered in Orbital Blue and Full Moon Silver and comes with a choice of gear boxes, either a manual tranny or the semi-automatic SE5 version. The RT-S has a special Timeless Black paint job that isn’t available in the other models and comes with a choice of transmissions as well. The Premier Edition Spyder RT-S roadsters can be pre-ordered with deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2009.

Good Catch. The 2010 RTS only came in Black. I am still driving mine.

If your interested in the dealer one--have them run the mechanical history by running the VIN. If you can find out the previous owner, they may or may not have posted about the
:spyder2: on the site. Good or Bad.

Price seems to be in the range for retail for that model and year--but that is subjective of course. :roflblack:

Thanks for all the advice. I have talked to a few of you and I have decided on looking for a new 2012 TR-S. I will let you know the final outcome.
