What's the difference in these 2 riser blocks? I'm looking to add a 1" riser to my existing 4" risers

The picture on the left is the bottom of the riser, the right pic goes on top. You put your handlebars between the two and screw them together.

The second one looks a lot like BRP's OEM accessory piece.
I don't know what the first one is!
If you go to a total of 5" in risers piled up under there, will you have enough cable-length to make things work?

The one on the right is the OEM Can Am riser block, I had one. http://store.spyder.brp.com/product/631096/219400241/_/Riser_Block It attaches ON TOP OF the existing handlebar mount using longer bolts. The one on the left REPLACES the existing handlebar mount; you remove the part and replace it on the splined steering column. The end result is the same, just different mounting options.

As an RT jockey; I'm learning more and more from you RS pilots every day...

I have the one on the left installed on my bike and it does move the handlebars back a bit and makes the ride more comfortable. I have one for sale cheap if you want it. I bought one to put on a used bike I bought and then realized the used bike already had on installed.

You would think so looking at them but no. The stock RS handlebar top clamp is a flatter plate. Item 2 in the parts fische. http://parts.spyder.brp.com/Index.aspx?s1=j6e9ubr40p9gt4af25ogmkgrh0&catalog_id=0&language_id=1&siteid=1

OK the link doesn't automatically work .. choose Spyder RS, then steering, and zoom in.

You can't use the 1 inch riser if your already have 4 inch aftermarket risers. Cables are not long enough. The 1" BRP riser barely does anything--- waste of time and money.
If you need more than 4" of rise, you'll have to do something else custom.

Thanks a lot for the answers. I have the street magic 4" risers now. I'm almost positive there is plenty of slack to add the 1" and still have a little slack in the cables. I'm pretty sure I've read on here about someone doing this. Would like to get the bars just a little more back toward me.

Fair.

I come from two-wheelies and have a risers on the Springer.

Cut up a beer can and put it between the risers and the handlebars to keep from chaffing the bars...

There isn't. Don't ask me how I know. It was an expensive lesson, I'm still bitter. :banghead:

I had the 1" riser block and just upgraded to Heli Bars (4" back 1" up). With the Heli Bars there is just enough slack at lock to lock with stock cables, there is NO WAY you can add the 1" riser block. I had to cut all the cable ties to get enough slack without the cables binding.
