I got the mirror off with no problem, I am having trouble getting the top body color section apart, I am doing a color change, I see there is a small detent that I have pushed apart but I can't seem to get it separated, didnt want to use to much force and break it, any help would be much appreciated.

I don't have the procedure on hand... :opps:
But it was posted in a thread about adding extra turnsignal indicators to the mirror housing...

Oh man, that's fun. you'll find the post that shows where to put the screwdriver and kinda push the indents. :dontknow: well you'll still pull, push, pry and fuss and everything else and all of a sudden it will pop loose on one side or the other. Don't worry, it probally won't break, you just think it will. when you get it apart look at it really good where the tabs go and even take a pic or two with your cell phone. These are just plain tricky if you don't do it a lot. anyway, good luck. :banghead: If you break one I have some blue tops you can have. (put the chrome ones on mine).

:agree: It's pretty scary :yikes:; but they do come apart!
It's just that it's tough to know exactly what you did that caused it...

You will break a tab or two, just a fact of life they still work though, and if you do not break the tabs then count yourself as lucky and patient.

:agree: :opps: I've got a tab on the Right-Hand mirror that's given up hope... I've got a spare set of covers, and am just waiting to build up my courage to dive back into them!

I tried this a while back. I recall learning years ago that you have to pick your battles... well, I decided not to pick this one...

If I decide to revisit, I'll have some spare parts on hand first.
