Hello Fellow Spyder Lovers:

Just got my Spyder back after first servicing and the cost was (insert drum roll here)........

$267.51

It breaks down like this

Oil Filter 16.12
O-ring 8.74
Hardware & Environment 6.00
Engine oil 4 @ 13.97 = 55.88

Oh yeah they cleaned the brakes - No charge for that

I go June 9 for my first check up, I have no idea what to expect for a cost. I hope it is as low as your's! For some reason I was thinking it would be closer to $500. I can deal with closer to $300 than $500.

When I picked up my Spyder my dealer told me the cost of first service would be the cost of oil and filter, no labor! Guess what?

Filter $14.16
Oil 41.55 (4 quarts)

Total 55.71 plus tax

I love my dealer Progressive Motorsports, Hudson Falls, NY

Quick question..you guys say you will go in say on July 5th, are you not putting that many miles on it or is it that hard to get into a dealer to get service. I am in the states and just called my dealer this morning to bring it in Thursday. Now, I will tell you I am a little over the 625 but only but 200 miles. But I did all that in and only had it for 2 weeks. I have not even left the county with it yet..lol. Trip to the beach is coming up though at the end of the month.

I was out bummin around today and stopped at Appleton Powersports (Appleton, WI) to drool over a yellow spyder for a while and asked what they charged for the first service check. They told me $225 which includes synthetic oil. Will have to check out the other Spyder dealers in and around the state to see how they compare, but from what I'm reading here that price seems "ok".

Ours was just under US$210. I asked if he found anything strange, and he said, "Yeah. Somebody has attached a lot of stuff in there!" Then stood there grinning. He must mean the cruise, HeatTroller, fogs, Autocom . . . :joke:

I picked up my :spyder: June 11 and it is 130 miles from dealer to my house. I ride 52 round trip miles to work. I called

dealer on june 17 to make a Saturday appt. First on available was July 5th. My dealer still does not have the BRP software

to do downloads with, so if it has not arrived by July 3rd I will move appt to whenever they receive it. Will change oil this

weekend anyway (over 1400 miles on it).

i changed my own oil @ $11.99 per quart $16 and change for the filter. Dealer said to use the old o rings and drain plug washers, book said to change.Biggest part of the job was taking bike apart to do the sevice. MUST BE VERY CAREFUL

quoted a price today of 255.00 from Mosites Powersports in Pa. Said it takes 1.5 hrs to do.Maybe 2. The worst part was the 3 times they said they would call me back to schedule it and they did not.

My dealer RPM Motorsports in Denver charges almost $300 for the first service. When I bought the Spyder I bought an unlimited service agreement. This is bumper to bumper for 3 years...all labor and parts for $1800(this also covers the first service). I am not a big fan of extended warranties and dont mind doing my own work but for the money I dont think I can beat it. This way, if something goes wrong and its expensive its covered. Furthermore there is no mileage limit. So If I need 10 oil changes a year its covered!!
