So I pull into my local library today and a man approaches me and asks “ Is that there one of those Spyders?” I say yes, he says “ask me how I know that” so I ask and he says “I watch CSI” too funny! He then proceeds to tell me about the episode that he saw it in along with all of his medical conditions and why he would never be able to drive one. Gotta love the spyder! :)

I believe it was a RS. I hate it when people ask me about my moped. Nothing else but that bugs me.

I think I saw a connector in the back of Bob's head for a PS2 cable at Spyderfest :roflblack::roflblack:

The question I get the most is "do you like that thing" , I think people are interested but don't know how to start the conversation and that is the first thing that comes out of their mouth. The second question is "how does it handle or does it lean"? And of course the How much mileage does it get? is always ask. For that one my response is if you want high mileage it's not for you,The mileage is O.K. but not great. We don't buy our "toys" with mileage in mind, Has anyone ever ask how much mileage a snow mobile, boat, ATV, 426 Hemi gets?
I try to be polite and and answer their questions and I guess my Enthusiasm and the grin on my face is bout all it takes and most of the time they walk off with a little jealousy in their eyes and a big smile.

The best conversation I ever had was with a neighbor at the bottom of our road. He was walking his dog and stopped to chat. He asked all the normal questions and then some really strange ones like build time, patents, base frame etc. Turns out the word on our street was that I had built this custom funny looking machine :roflblack:, he was shocked when I told him its a retail product sold out the door as is.

What kind of mileage does it get? That like asking someone who drives a class A motorhome that question. They aren't known for great mileage.

The best thing about the 426 Hemi was that you could get it in the 1967 Belvedere II, also known as the GTX. Then you could smoke the camaros and mustangs and have 3 friends in the car with you to witness it.:ohyea::thumbup:

Just sayin'............

Belive it or not, there is a moped out there that will give the spyder a run for his money, the Yamaha TMax, kinda like them:opps:

For the record; I'm not sure how the terms moped and scooter became interchangeable but being old enough to remember actual mopeds (had motors and pedals, thus the name), I've always found it a tad irritating. I remember renting mopeds on Oahu, and with what must have been about a 25cc motor, the pedals were essential for making it up hills. Not much in common with today's scooters.
