RODE THE TAIL TODAY!

Smokey and I rode the Tail of the Dragon today. What a trip! Met up with Murphy Brown and Dick, from Indiana, in Gatlinburg and did the 150 mile ride. It was so much fun. Cool, a little rain and very little traffic. We now have the Dragon Patches and "bragging rights":ohyea:. Tomorrow, we will all ride to Maggie Valley. Supposed to be warm and sunny:yes::clap::thumbup:. Three bike, three sets of Seal Floorboards.

Rode the tail of the Dragon (318 turns in 11 miles) now four times with regular foot pegs and four times with Seal's Pups on my RT-S. much more comfortable with the Seals! Better foot position.

Florida has an even better road 11 turns in 318 miles! LOL

The wife and I rode the Tail 4/25/13 on a the stock '12 RT Limited. Good ryde, but the road to the Tail (Rte. 28) was more fun, less traffic and an overall good ryde :ohyea:. Would do it again for sure on the :f_spider::yes:

We have a less famous road around here O Hwy... when you enter the road the speed limit sign says

Good deal (no pun intended). Now do 209, The Rattler. My favorite road. Runs from Fines Creek to Hot Springs. Great road. You won't be sorry.

Since others have mentioned a couple other rides, heres my .02

Anyone coming up to AK--I can direct you to a similar road. Its like a mini Dragon. 160 curves in about a 10 mile length. Very steep and will take you above the tree line. Views for miles. Hatcher Pass Road.

Try the road from the "Gulf Coast" through the NationalForest to Tallahassee. I forget the number but it is straight for almost 50/70 miles that it almost put me to sleep when three of us rode 1 car in over an hour at 85 degrees. You , the bike and nothing but pine trees. Not even the occasional house, road kill or skunk to liven things up
