Any wiring modifications needed? Or is it just plug and play?

Maybe this is just boredum speaking but for every 10 decibel point increase, the noise is considered to be twice as loud. If you jump up 20 points the noice is 4 times as loud. That would mean that the stock horn is at 98 decibels. That means you are taking the horn from something comparable to a jack hammer(which I happen to think is a very loud tool, and increasing it to something that is just over the "threshold of feeling":yikes:. Seems a little overkill to me, unless you are trying to compete with the straight pipe motorcyclists for most annoying sound. :roflblack: Depending on how bad the drivers you encounter are, you could be deaf by the end of a trip. Everybody put your hand to the back of your ear and say :hun::joke:

Just sayin'............

Installed the bad boy dual air horns 139 decibels auto parts store $44.00 but have seldom used it. Just to remind the gal putting on makeup that the light is green. Usually messes up the makeup. Plugged it in direct to oem lines but was told if I honk for 10 seconds or more will blow the fuse. To painful to try and find out..they look like nice horns but pricey..jmo

I've only used mine to give a short, friendly "beep-beep" salute to people who wave at me, or otherwise show interest in that weird machine cruising by. Accompanied with a smile and/or a thumbs-up, when possible.

I don't know what good it would do in any real emergency situation. Would it even startle a mouse?

A good question on those high-decibel horns, though, what about the driver's ears and hearing? Sounds dangerous with prolonged use.

If we were still twenty it could present a problem. As it is, you could whack an old galvanized trash can with a ball bat and most of us wouldn't flinch. Did you hear that?:hun:WHAT! :roflblack:

seems expensive for a straight up replacement. I added the Bad Boy Air Horn for 100-120, with the relay. you can hear mine in one of the SpyderFest 2012 parade videos on youtube when the camera operator hears it and says, "aftermarket horn". haha

Any idea, why after installing this horn, using it for 10 months, that it would keep blowing the fuse associated with the horn?

Spyderdan: Very sorry to hear about your horn cutting out! We never have any problems with this horn, and usually when there's this type of issue, a wire has become un-crimped, or something jarred loose and there's a short created. Occasionally people forget or choose not to use a relay too, but please contact us if you haven't solved your fuse problem and one of our technical staff will help you any way we can. For me, I just bought an aftermarket horn marketed for an H-D motorcycle. It is advertised as a "Euro sports horn", which is noticeably louder than stock. It was completely plug n' play with no relay. It was under $20 delivered.

It weird that my 08' had a rather nice automotive horn that to me was plenty loud enough, but I notice the 14' RT horn is not nearly as loud and not nearly the quality as the original. Obviously some more cost cutting going on. :p

Some pretty funny responses in this thread lol. I've only used my horn once so far to "meep meep" as my fiancee and I pulled up to my parents house with the Spyder for the first time. The stock horn is definitely 90267
