On Sunday 4/14, several hearty souls gathered in Cincinnatus, NY @ high noon. They embarked on an epic journey through East Pharsalia, into East McDonough, and a stop for lunch at "the Outpost". From there it was East to Oxford and then south to Greene. By the time they got to 206 the sun was shining but it was still cold. Never the less, they soldiered on. They rolled on through Coventry, Bainbridge, Masonville, and finally into Walton. They stopped at the local Spyder web (Klinger's) and headed over to the gas station for a cup of coffee and route discussion. The trip down 10 over the Canonville Reservoir was a serpentine road through some of the most beautiful scenery in the Catskills. That road came to an end just north of Deposit, where they enjoyed 8 for all of 2 miles before taking an equally short trip on 17 West. Two exits later the "High Speed" portion of their trip came to an end as they turned North on 41 and headed for Afton. Their fearless leader had never been there but deftly navigated the small town and it's interesting main intersection. The corners on 41 were a joy to these riders as they wound their way back to 206. After taking 206 back into Greene, the group switched leaders as a change in course was planned. 206 was the way to Whitney Point. As they wound their way toward the sun, each one of them thinking about their brother-in-arms they were going to visit. Whitney point was busy, and they turned North on 11 toward the thriving metropolis of Marathon. After a couple side streets, and soon they were headed down a street with no way out. There they stopped to visit a wounded warrior named Donna. She had not been able to ride, but she pulled no punches when joking with the riders. One by one they walked into the garage to gaze upon her trusty steed. As the sun drooped low in the evening sky, the riders rode of in the direction of their homes. Everyone of these riders made better than 200 miles that day. And everyone vowed to do it again, after the great pilgrimage to Spyderfest of course.

Thanks for the great ride, see you again soon.

I ride with a great group of riders, no BS just a whole lot of makin myles and good conversation at every stop. Sadly I will not be able to attend spyderfest with several of our group members. Kevin and I will most likely do a tribute ride for our partners in crime as they prepare for the long journey to Missouri. We will have to see what Sunday brings. Jim, Nancy, Don, and Bill(Not certain if Bill is going, but just in case): Have a safe and fun trip and we will see you all again soon.

Just sayin'............
