Hi All...Have 09 Spyder GS-SE5 with the Hindle performance exhaust...question, Has any one done a repack on one and if so what kit or type of packing did you use. ALSO, on the slip on side of the exhaust, is there some type of exhaust sealant that is used, I have a small leak there and cant get rid of it.It was kinda funny, I contacted hindle in regards to the repack and they told me they do not make one and that I should contact BRP for one......cant seem to get a response from BRP though.

I had a similar issue when I bought my HMF with the slip connection. Mine looked like it was dropped during shipping and there was a flat spot on the slip joint of the pipe. I used an exhaust expander to make it round again but it also made it slightly larger so there was a leak at the slip connection. The stock band or a T-bolt clamp isn't enough pressure to seal the pipe.

I used a lap joint band clamp and it worked perfect. I had to use a dremel to make two little notches or cut outs for the exhaust spring loop and around where the O2 sensor bung is welded.
Here is a link to what I used: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dep-l25sa

As for repacking....I'd imagine just about any manufacturers packing would work once you get the pipe apart.
Good Luck!
Doug

Thanks Doug for the info.....not so sure about the packing though...gotta keep researching or digging for info, it was very frustrating when you call the manufacturer and they cant ( or will not) provide you with some helpful info.

With regard to the slip on side of the exhaust & your question about sealant... I used a product called Acousti/Seal. I purchased it at a local auto-parts, but here's a link I found for an online reseller: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1389-acoustiseal-exhaust-system-sealing-compound-5oz-tube.aspx

Good Luck..
