Well I started another trailer restore project. I am working on a trailer just in case the weather doesn't cooperate and I will need to trailer the Spyder to Spyderfest.

It will not be painted but it will be road ready just in case.

Putting a lot of new metal into it. It will have to be sandblasted before it can be painted..

Well the trailer is home. I have been to the Secretary of State and how I have a plate for it. I have some more work to do on it, but it will be ready if I need to do plan B and trailer it to Springfield

Whatcha gonna do for a ramp?

NancysToy, I am thinking about making my own ramps. Do you have any suggestion? 6 foot ramps are to short need to be at least 8 foot. I have about 18 in rise from the trailer deck to the ground. I would like to meet up with you at Spyderfest. PM me or email me at Spyder@fredell.net. I am staying at the Best Western in Springfield.

Without a tongue jack to raise the front of the trailer, a Spyder needs all the ramp it can get. Depending on how you intend to store them, I'd make them as long as the trailer or truck bed. You may also want to consider a tongue jack, although a handy hill, ditch, plank under the ramp ends, or a curb can reduce the ramp angle and allow you to load or unload. Planks with hooks to attach at the trailer work well, but are heavy...and light weight pine/spruce/fir may bend unless reinforced. ATV ramps are too narrow, and two of them gets expensive. Old car hauler rails or ramps work super, if you can find them at a junk yard. I suppose an ambitious woodworker could make up a great set of lattice ramps that would be super sturdy, but it seems like a lot of work. Welded angle iron ramps are super heavy. Lots of choices, I'm sure you'll come up with something suitable. You seem to be very resourceful.

Hoping to be at Spyderfest, but it is still a little up in the air due to Nancy's recent illness and the house project. We'll be at the host Comfort Inn if we make it.

Well plan B is done. Plan B is if I had to trailer my Spyder to Spyderfest.

However I have moved onto plan C, leave a day early. Because of rain in the forecast on Tuesday I am leaving on Sunday and stop south of St. Louis and arrive in Springfield early Monday afternoon.

Nice Job, :clap:Typical Michigan Trailer to start with. I put 4 x 4's in front of the front wheels and 2 x 4's behind the front wheels. this holds the spyder nicely in place and prevents over driving the front of the trailer (it happens), Tie downs on the front pegs and hitch should hold it, The first time I put straps through the wheels with soft towels it left marks:(. For added security a WIDE strap or two over the seat with protectors can be used.

Look great, I would suggest some sort of a rock shield in front.
