Not too long ago....... the only event in the Northeast put on by another website was cancelled. After much thought and some encouragement from Lamont, a few of us deceided to take the bull by the horns and create a Northeast event of our own. This is how Spyderquest was born.

This will be the thread to find all the information you will need to know about this event filled Spyder gathering. We will provide as many details as we can as we nail them down in hopes to show you that this event should not be missed by anyone. We hope to make this Spyderquest a little different from the rest to provide change to others that attend multiple events each year.

To be completly honest we do not have the manpower, experience or sponsorship (as of today), but if you look at our itinerary you should be quite pleased with what's in store for you. I personally promise to work as hard as possible on this, you have my word (as well as my fellow NY Spyder Riding family).

Itinerary may/will be adjusted as needed, so check back often.

Thursday September 19th
---------------------------------------------------------------
Opening day ceremony- Lake George RV Park- http://www.lakegeorgervpark.com/

After your ride into Lake George from your home, we will be gathering at the best RV park I have ever had the pleasure of going to. This RV park will also be the host RV Campground for Spyderquest (sorry, no tent sites). We have rented the Bingo pavilion which holds hundreds and will provide cover if mother nature decides to throw us a curve ball. You are invited to arrive early and use all the parks amenities all day long which includes an indoor heated pool, so dont forget your trunks and towel.

Location Bingo pavilion inside the park
---------------------------------------------
2 or 3pm Start------ Come gather and meet with friends of old and start to make new ones.
5pm BBQ Dinner catered that is free with paid registration.
6.30 pm is Farkle Bingo---- working on getting vendors to sponsor this for prizes.
10-11 pm shut down and clear out. Sorry we have a full few days ahead of us.
(Music will be provided by MP3 player for your enjoyment at the parvilion before dinner and after Bingo)

This RV park has a cafe and store if you are arriving early which even sells beer. We are not promoting or will be judging you. All we are asking is, if you do...... please do so responsibly.

Friday September 20th
---------------------------------------------------------------
Whiteface Mt ride and Hot Air Balloon Festival

This will be our large guided group ride (Rnet,Cleg) through some of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains and will wind up back in Queensbury, NY later that day to attend the Adirondack Balloon Festival. This ride will include the price for Whiteface MT ride will be on the registration form. Bring your camera, because you will have mountain views for miles and miles at over 4800 feet ASL. A elevator is on site for those that do not want to walk. (Like me) LOL

While at the Balloon Festival you will be able to see 80+ hot air ballons take off at 5pm (if the weather permits). This is absolutely a breath taking site to see. Food vendors and a craft fair will also be on location to satisfy all your needs. Admission is free, parking is a donation.

Saturday September 21st
---------------------------------------------------------------
Casino, Ride and Dinner Cruise Day

This closing day is jam packed with things to do. Eat breakfest, fill up with fuel and we will ride to the Saratoga Casino and Raceway by 10 am to try our luck for a couple of hours. This place has over 1500 slots, video roulette, poker and craps.

At 12pm we will gather to have a buffet lunch right in the casino (Garden Buffet) before we head out on a short Sacandaga lake ride located at the base of the Adirondacks. Price for lunch is $12.95 per person paid at the Casino (all you can eat and drink).
link to Casino-------------> http://saratogacasino.com/Home.aspx

If you do not wish to go to the Casino, there will be a separate longer ride to take a tour of historic Fort Ticonderoga. This fort has a lot of history including four attacks during the Revolutionary War. This ride is lead by Rnet and Cleg. Price for admission to the Fort will be on the registration form.

After our ride we saved the best event for last..................
At 530 pm we will start boarding Lake George's biggest ship to take over a two hour dinner cruise on beautiful Lake George. Dinner will be buffet style with main courses being fish, chicken, pasta and a meat carving station among many sides. Tickets can be purchased for $43.50 and will need to be included on your registration form. Parking directly across from the ship is $10.00....... So, if you want to find another place to park in the village, by all means do.

As you can see Spyderquest is packed with lots of fun and different things to do. I will add any further developments to this post and thread. Please join us and help to make Spyderquest a must do for all Spyder owners. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them or find out for you. Yes, it is September so a light jacket and warmer clothes might be needed for some. I might still be in shorts. :roflblack:

Randy,

Thanks for making this a reality. I just called and reserved one of the Wilderness Lodge rentals at the Lake George RV Park which we have stayed at a few times before and they are great. There will be at least 2 and possibly 4 in our group but I will update you as the event gets closer. If there is something that I can do to help let me know and I would be glad to invest time and effort to take something off your things to do list.

Its awesome that this will happen during the hot air balloon event and hopefully we will have some foliage to enjoy at the same time.

Count me in for this shindig.

Incidently, I got a room at the Studio Motel, the old section for $49 a night for a double bed.
That's in the old section. They said the old section was renovated but didn't have the amenities of the new section.
For $30 a night difference, I think I can afford to go out for a cup of coffee instead of having a coffee maker in my room.
That's just my opinion, others may differ.

Three group rides are planed. The one on Friday will be a quick paced ride to the top of Whiteface Mountain and depending how many sign up will determine the starting point. The ride will end up at the balloon launch. Saturday we are looking to do 2 rides going different directions, one being to Ft. Ticonderoga and around Lake George and back to the dinner/cruise. The other going around The Great Sacandaga Lake ending up at the casino in Saratoga. Then back to LG and the dinner/cruise for boarding at 5:30PM. Starting place for both off these rides TBD. The sooner we get registrations back the easier it will be for us. Thanks Ron

You are invited to arrive early and use all the parks amenities all day long which includes an indoor heated pool, so dont forget your trunks and towel.

video of amenities

Location Bingo pavilion inside the park
---------------------------------------------
2 or 3pm Start------ Come gather and meet with friends of old and start to make new ones.
5pm BBQ Dinner that is free with paid registration.

Balloon Festival link here -------> http://www.adirondackballoonfest.org/schedule.asp

Saturday September 21st
---------------------------------------------------------------
Casino, Rides and Dinner Cruise Day

This closing day is jam packed with things to do. Eat breakfest, fill up with fuel and we will ride to the Saratoga Casino and Raceway by 10 am to try our luck for a couple of hours. This place has over 1500 slots, video roulette, poker and craps.

At 12pm we will gather to have a buffet lunch right in the casino (Garden Buffet) before we head out on a short Sacandaga lake ride located at the base of the Adirondacks. Price for lunch is $12.95 per person paid at the Casino (all you can eat and drink).
link to Casino-------------> http://saratogacasino.com/Home.aspx

Post if you can make it and how many people will be in your party. This is very important that you post so we get a accurate count for the food on opening day.
As you can see Spyderquest is packed with lots of fun and different things to do. I will add any further developments to this post and thread. Please join us and help to make Spyderquest a must do for all Spyder owners. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them or find out for you. Or does anyone have an extra bed that there not using that Teddy and I could share? :dontknow:

Anyone from ky or tenn going

However, we are rather unconventional in our road-trip'n adventures

Meaning... since I have to work for a living, time is limited, and we usually have to wait til I get off work to leave, then we ryde as far as I feel comfortable and then we just pull over at a rest-stop or safe area, hop in the camper for a nap & as soon as I feel recharged, we hit the road again ..... usually in the wee hours of the morning :coffee: But it gets us there in one piece ;)

Teddy is spoiled & refuses to drive & is only happy when in HIS passenger seat, and we all know, if the Boss aint Happy, Nobody's Happy :)
