Now I can ahng my keys around my neck with the paracord lanyards I make !

Know many have asked about the key and if they can drill holes in them for key rings etc. Good to know about these. Thanks for letting us know..!!

Look at the key, Bob... 66268 the BMW logo is on the key. If you buy the cover it has the hole to where the BMW logo ON THE KEY is seen on the holder...

Good idea but...

Because the key ring is only going through the rubber cover and not the key itself, it seems like it would be easy to have the key get ripped off the key ring.

For those of you coming from Canada to Spyderfest, one of us here is the US could get them and bring to the event.

Happy to help!

Also, when putting the cover on it's easier to put the metal part of the key through the center hole first then, pull the silicone around the plastic. You can get the plastic through the bottom hole but boy is it difficult!

The silicone seems to be stretchy but SUPER tough, I don't think you could accidentally break the silicone like you could accidentally break the plastic cover BRP provides.

In the US bimmerzone has free shipping so, while the key cover costs a little more you still save a buck - http://www.bimmerzone.com/BMW_Accessories_Key_Cover/AMG-BMW-BMWJ33.html

Shipping was very fast! (and the one posted above is the purple) it's not a deep purple but that photo was with my iPhone in the kitchen light so the color isn't totally true to life.

Thanks for telling us !!! It is hard to imagine how something as little as not having something to hang your key or fish a key ring through is so annoying. I ordered as soon as saw this..... a year later then necessary..... but someone was keeping it secret. LOL

I'm Christina (the one who brought it up to the Girls on Spyders) but I did originally find it here on Spyder Lovers after some searching. I meant to order them a couple months ago but dragged my feet until a few days ago. Once they arrived I posted on FB and now I think the manufacturer owes me a commission. ;) (Just kidding).

I've just ordered a bunch of a paracord stuff to make fobs, too. :) I hope you enjoy your key covers!

I am supposed to take the key out of my spyder?
Prior to me purchasing a Spyder, I had a 1994 Goldwing Aspencade. One morning, I woke up and it was gone out of my garage. My garage door had been sticking and it was possible when I hit the button to close the garage door and walked in the house, the garage door snagged and went back up instead of closing. Anyway, I had the habit of leaving my keys in my motorcycle. The thief rolled it across my yard and onto the street and drove away. I was embarrassed that I left the keys in the motorcycle, but the insurance adjuster says it happens all the time when people leave their motorcycles in the garage.

Anyway, he said if it is not recovered within a few days... I should kiss it goodbye.

2 weeks later, I got a call from the city police asking me if I had my motorcycle stolen. I said yes and they said "We have recovered it. Could you come over and identify the motorcycle?" I went over and found my motorcycle parked in a back alley garage.

I asked the police office, how did you find it? He said the two guys in the house were gay. They got into a domestic dispute and the one guy chased the other out of the house with a gun. The second guy called the police and asked for an escort so he could retrieve some of his personal items from the house. The police met the man at the house and supervised him removing personal items.

As the guy left the house with the last of his property, he turned to the police officer and said "Oh, by the way, he has a stolen motorcycle in the garage."

I think you'll be fine, Bob!

When I put the first one I did the square peg/round hole thing and started at the bottom. I stretched the CRAP out of that thing and you can't even tell. I think if you caught it and pulled it hard enough to break it you would know. It's not like plastic which can just crack.
