It's about 900 miles (871) to Springfield and according to Google, it's about 13 hours 41 minutes driving time. 100 miles per tank looks to be about 9 fill-ups per trip plus what you do in Springfield, though you might get better mileage per tank due to steady hwy driving instead of a lot of stops (like in urban shopping areas).

My question is, where on the gauge are you filling up at? I can go 150 as a safe average with my RS on a full tank. The furthest I have pushed it is 208 miles. And on that same trip, I had an RT with me, but for some reason his showed 205. Hmmmm?

I understand you want to get there without worrying about running out, but as a precaution you can buy a 1 gallon jug for an extra gallon of fuel. Just as a safety measure.

Also, if you refill at one bar, you should be able to easily go another 20-30 depending on your fuel mileage.

I believe that Spyderpoop has a RT and if he hasn't disconnected the analog gauges his low fuel light comes on long before it needs to. I would imagine that he has never had to put in over 4.5 gallons of gas at a fill up. The digital bar gauge that comes on in place of the analog gauge is much more accurate.

Take a gallon can fill it...fill your tank...set your A and B trip meter to 00... Then ryde till the low fuel light comes on...re-set the A trip meter to 00...keep going till she sputters and dies..now A trip meter will tell you how far it is from low fuel to no fuel and B trip meter will tell you how far you get on a tank of gas..now put the gallon in and go fill her up..you will now have a reference to go by when on the road...

With my wife and I on my RT I ave about 25 mpg (heavy wrist!) and if I fill up just as the analog gauge hits the red portion it's about 100 miles and it will take 4.1 gal of gas. At the fuel light the gauge is about 2/3rds in the red and it will take 4.9 gal of gas and I am at 120 miles. With the gauge at what looks like empty I am at 145 miles and it will take 5.4 gal. There most likely is still 0.6 gal of usable fuel left. I also carry a small one gal motorcycle gas plastic can for safety. Even with all of the above I still stop every 100 miles just to stretch!

1200 miles for us; I'm figuring that it'll take eight stops. :2thumbs:

208 MILES:yikes: When mine hits two bars, I begin to look for a gas pump. But then again, I have been standing on the side of the road with a Spyder (*empty) that gulped up those last two bars quickly. My motto "110, put gas in!"

I get between 125-150 miles thats riding 1 up. plan on leaving for spyderfest on Tuesday around 800 miles one way to spyderfest. 800miles divided by 125 = 6.5 fillups

100 miles to a tank seems a bit low. When I was riding two up on the RT, I could always go 150 miles and would end up putting in 5 gals or slightly less.

I changed over to digital gauges and my refuel light goes on now at about 150. With analog gauges, it would go on at about 125 or so.

I get a consistent 30 mpg so 150 has always been doable for me. I usually start looking for gas between 125-150 depending on where I am.

I'm more comfortable stopping at 125 miles or so. 150 miles makes my blood pressure rise...

I'll have my 1.75 gallon RotoPax gas can filled and stored in my trailer the day we leave. Although I hope I don't need to use it, it surely will give me peace of mind to know it's there.
