Add Oil

Last oil change was done at dealer using the BRP oil on my 2010 Roadster SE-5. Does it hurt in anyway when it comes time to add oil to use a different brand such as Amsoil MCF?

Amsoil MCF 10w40 would be a fine choice. But 20w50 absolutely not.

Most oils are compatible these days. You should not have any problems. The safest route would be to use the identical oil to top things off, however.

I use amsoil 10w40 and had to top off and all they had was a differant oil .....ran fine and being an ase auto Tec was not to concerned. Go Ohio

Remember to check the oil when it's at operating tempature.

stick with similar type and weights, synthetic, semi or synthetic blend or regular, 5w-30 or 10w-40. If in a bind they will work fine...:dontknow:

I dont know if it still makes a difference, but years ago, it was not recommended to mix eastern oils(Pennsylvania paraffin base) with western(carbon based)oils. I don't know if this is correct or not, but I still usually stick to the same brand.:dontknow:
