I some how managed to catch up (on my 115 CC automatic moto) with this guy and a GORGEOUS BABE, flagging him over, he allowed me to take a few pics only cause I told him I have a Spyder too. We exchange handles (his is TU) in a quick search I could not find him in spyerlovers.com.

Once I got here and realize how horrible the traffic is and road conditions are, it is better to let it sit garaged and covered for the time being than to destroy it here in every day traffic. Man hole covers and pot holes everywhere. Some are over 5 inches....... whats that going to do to the front bumper? Not to mention the swarm of angry bees for traffic. I see bikes bumping into eachother all the time! I had one guy come out off the left side of the road one day and kept coming across I had no where to go so I held steady on the bars and opened the throttle just before he hit me. In so doing we locked bars and it threw him ( CRASH ) I hear behind me as I kept going, no looking back! No need to from the sounds of things. Not my fault if he can't look where he's going. This is common occurrence, in Nam. Intersection are a nightmare!! Red and Green lights?? Who cares open the throttle and go. If you recall, this :spyder2: I saw was at 11:00 PM when most traffic has subsided. Shipping (ball park $1,000 $1200) my :spyder2: here is not the issue, The 90% import tax is :banghead::banghead: YES you read it right.... Ninety Percent of new value. There are other ways I have heard. Shipping to Cambodia and paying the border guards a hefty sum maybe 20%. And last as most of you know once a :spyder: leaves its country the warranty is terminated. The Bitter Sweet of all this is...... What to do?? Sell my :spyder2: and stay here and not be able to RYDE?? or leave what I Love doing here, teaching English and some other great goals to return to the states and search for a job? So I can ryde my :spyder2: Decisions Decisions; What to do? What to do?? OH YA His FARKLES ARE GEREAT especially so the FARKLE directly behind him :yes:

Mr. Looney, are you from the States originally? or Asia? Just wondering since you haven't said much about yourself.

How about taking an English-teaching job in a country that's easier on the Spyder? Like Europe, or Japan?

You make the traffic sound more like a Saturday Night Demolition Derby at the County Fair... Did you happen to ask the rider about his blue "Belly lights""? His passenger was very cute... better luck the next time you catch up to them! :2thumbs:

Was there a Spyder in those pictures???

There are no traffic laws there, never have been. It's every Spyder for himself.

Saturday night Demo Derby :agree: is a Great description of the "NORMAL" traffic here in Hanoi most any day Monday ~~~ Sunday 6:30 AM to about 9:30 PM. NO I did not ask about the "Belly Lights" (he was in a hurry). Great color combination for this :spyder2: really sets it off! and no restrictions on lighting here! I'm guessing you could have flashing Reds & Blues too !! Since no one :lecturef_smilie: cares about the police or Ambulances, countless numbers of times I have seen an Ambulance going slower than the motor bikes cause "NO ONE GETS OUT OF THE WAY" :gaah: And last, I am Caucasian White American Born and Breed  Yes there is a Spyder in the pics above the blue lights (scroll down to bottom of pic). It seems the only traffic law is, "EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF" !!

I forgot to mention, that's probably the fastest vehicle on the road too. Although he probably couldn't do much speed until he gets way out of the city. Then you have to watch for the water buffalo :yikes:
