View Full Version : Vinyl "Carbon Fiber" on ST-S Nose

I was looking at the vertical flat pieces of the nose of my new Circuit Yellow Metallic ST-S and thinking "rock chips"! I checked out the Internet for sources of vinyl "carbon fiber", thinking it would look good and be easy to apply there. I found several sources. I applied the thinner version, before the other thicker version arrived, and bungled the job....ending up with two large wrinkles, but it did serve as a prototype of how I could expect it to look. Then two days ago I took it into the dealer for First Service and asked them to replace my bungled job with the thin vinyl, with the better quality thicker vinyl. They did a great job of applying it without any wrinkles. It is a minor touch, but I like how it looks and it should protect the nose a bit.

Hey guys, I like your idea, where did you find this stuff from?

I think I'd like to steal your idea... :) for my Green RSS.

Who would think that such a small change could have a big cosmetic enhancement. It does look real nice. Maybe add some lighting around it for special effect? Either way good idea.

The type I ended up installing came from a place called "www.Metrorestyling.com" and it looks like their phone number is 888-488-4695. you get a roll that is about 18 inches wide and maybe 40 inches long. It cost something like $15-$20.

Here's a picture of our STS with the blacked-out front end.

Had Andy at GP FX Graphics here in Richmond do it for me.
Did a fantastic job. He does full-wraps on high-end autos here in the Greater Vancouver Area professionally.
By the way, he didn't use CF wrap just a thin flat black 3M wrap.

Darn, all those look great and has given me incentive to do something like that on our yellow ST-S.

Thanks for the ideas.

Actually it looks like that ST is parked on the lane divider as in it might be parked illegally. :opps:

Hahaha! Though I have 10 parking spots, I managed to park 3 cars and 6 bikes in 4 parking stalls.
The rest, I rent out.

The RT and Harley 48 occupy 1 stall if it makes you feel better about the tight parking style.
Close formation, huh? :D

Ron, what was the part number of the stuff you used, both thick and thin? And you ended up just using the the thin if I read your post correctly. Is that correct?

Hi,
I guess I am not doing a very good job of marketing our products here on SL.
We are a sponsor here on the site and have many pre-cut vinyl products for all model Spyders: ST, RS, GS, RSS & RT.
We also offer custom dash kits (http://www.powersportswraps.com/spyder-dash-kits.php) & some chrome products (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/album.php?albumid=2865) as well for Spyders.

We sell the 3M textured carbon fiber as a pre-cut panels so installation is very easy, just peel & stick.
No trimming necessary. This is an example of what we did on Lamont's ST (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/album.php?albumid=2767).

Attached are a few photos and links you can look at. The film is in stock.

Please let us know if we can help you customize your Spyder.

See our Spyder project gallery here. (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/albumall.php?s=&query=spyder+wraps+pete)

Thank you
Pete Ameno

Pete, do you make a pre cut piece for the nose of the ST, much like what has been shown in this thread, in either all black or carbon fiber or something else? I did not see a reference to such a piece but I am thinking if you did it might be a seller for those of us with the ST.

Hi Carl,

Yes, we have the pre-shaped panels for the complete lower air-dam for the ST, RS, RSS, GS & RT.
We offer paint protection film or the kit can be cut in carbon fiber, matte or glossy Black or another color.
We also can create a custom design like in the attached. Here is an example of carbon fiber pre-shaped panels. (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/album.php?albumid=2699)

I just made a new post to help members know what we have to offer. See it here. (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?61609-What-we-have-to-offer)

Please let us know how we can help.

Thank you
