..I met this couple from Québec and they were looking at the Spyders here in East TN. Got to go over the different models with them. I guess they are much more there where they're built than here. Go figure. :doorag:

I see a lot of Canadians here in Key Largo and have heard some say that cars cost more in Canada. It might be the taxes.

Cool. Looks like they were ready for some cold weather riding too.

Lamont my rt limited is 5000 more here in Canada then down there. Not sure if its the taxes it has to do with the dollar. It is bull that we pay more here in Canada for a product that is made here. Its very upsetting and when you ask a dealer they have no answer.

Absolutely nothing to do with Canadian Taxes or the exchange rate between the U.S. & Canadian dollar. The price of a Can Am Spyder and accessories has always been approximately 15% more in Canada than the U.S., and this marketing strategy by BRP will not be changing anytime soon.

It has everything to do with market size and because "they can". The same pricing variance applies to pretty well every other consumer item, except hockey pucks!:D

...and the worst part is if you go across the border to buy in the US, your warranty will not be honored in Canada.

The automobile industry has been doing this long before BRP introduced the Spyder :gaah:

We buy your Spyders cheaper. You buy our pharmaceuticals (drugs) much cheaper. Can't say that's a fair trade.

How you think they pay for socialized medical care. Just wait...it won't be far away in the USA.

When I was at SITA last year the dealer told me my Limited RT would be 5k less there then what I paid here where they are made!:yikes: He also said BRP made him sign an agreement that he cannot sell to Canadians!!:lecturef_smilie: That is just wrong on all counts!
