I have a Grumman 1750CS canoe, square tail. I have the option of a 5HP 2 cycle outboard where the canoe will do a blistering 12 MPH!
It will carry three divers and their gear and makes a great dive buoy with a raised dive flag.

I had pondered the idea years ago of the possibility of putting a jet drive in a square tail canoe?

Could you imagine showing up at a Bass Tournament with a canoe (Hidden jet drive!), and scaring the V-8s crazy when you pull up along side of them at speed? :shocked: :roflblack:

I fished Matagorda Bay in a 14ft square back aluminum canoe once with a 5 hp Evenrude. Spent 4 hours in a duck blind riding out a squall. Things we do when young and foolish.....sure had a good time though.
