Nice looking hitch. :doorag:
How much time to install? Is it easily removable? Is there a list price yet?
I am planning a trip to Alaska and I am looking at the hitches available for the Spyder.

Looks good, how about getting it wired in to the lights, how did that go? :spyder: Can't wait to hear your pipe, Evan told me he sent you the 90. How is the polish on it? I'm looking at a carbon fiber pipe from Area P like the ones I have on my ZX14 but with a different end cap than what I have now.http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m274/roknroe/DCP_1198.jpg

Well I took it out last night and ran it pretty hard and I couldn't tell it was back there. Sure makes for a long parking spot now though. ;D I felt no problems with the VSS or the ABS. I do plan on hitting Deals Gap again and push it a little harder just to see. At 95mph it felt rock solid. I think the Spyder is going to be a great tow vehicle.

This hitch was done in silver to get an idea how it would look. I think the first batch is going to be done in black and mine is still a prototype so there will be a couple of cosmetic changes. I plan on going to black on the next one.

The hitch is super strong. I can get everything else to move way before the hitch moves. They decided to bring the supports out to the back of the hitch so in the case of hard braking there will be no issue with the hitch folding up. As a guy that had his own welding biz for 16 years I can tell you that this is the way to build a hitch. The guys that are mounting it right to the swingarm are going to have a really bad day when their hitch breaks. ::) No real trailer or trailer hitch company builds a hitch that isn't attached to the suspension.

The hitch has four bolts and the whole thing comes off. There's also a quick connect for the wiring. I didn't do the install so I really can't say how long it's going to take to install and wire up. Andrew said something about the wiring will be supplied with a isolator too.

They still need to do a cost on some of the machined parts but right now they are thinking it will come in at around $450. Might be a little more and might be a little less. I have over 7K in my trailer with paint and I wouldn't tow it with anything else. I feel really good about the strength and quality of this product and I guess Mike Corbin feels the same way because he has the next hitch they built for the Spyder.

If you want to get your order in you can call Bushtec @ 423-562-9911 and get on the list. This will help them to figure out how many they need to build. You won't be charged till they ship the hitch.

Very Nice!!!!
I like the fact thats its a fairly quick remove, so it could be taken off when taking the bike in for service if an owner feels his dealer might be the type to frown on trailering since its frowned on by BRP (more for their CYA than anything Id bet)

I assume one could mount a regulat ball to the hitch rather than the bushtec swivel?

Thanks for the info Lamont!

Yes you will be able to set it up for a ball type hitch. Right now I think I'm going to try and run to Deals Gap on Sat. and see how she does when I'm working it. :doorag: :spyder:

Looks like they did their homework.

I would want all black tho...... it would blend in better to the bike.

They wanted to make sure there was no issues with the stop pipes so they build the hitch around it. Micron is going on today. :doorag:
