I've used these fans on my Blower bikes that tend to get hotter than most bikes and they work really well. They are about 300cfm and will cool a hot bike down in a hurry. My friend Ron put one on his oil cooler on his air cooled 4wheeler and that kept it from overheating like it did before the fan. I think this will be a good mod for the Spyder to keep the temps down. :doorag:

Ken:

I seem to remember asking you the same question a couple of weeks back on another forum...

I am of the opinion that it should be the same as it would be on the Rad side of things.

Just my opinion...

the only issue i can see is that the fan motor will block airflow at highway speeds. years ago i worked on some oil cooler designs with fans - at low speed, they helped, at higher speeds they hurt.

If the fan was in front on the cooler I could see that but these are pullers and are on the back of the cooler.
There's no cooling issue when you're moving, only when you're setting still or stuck in traffic with no ram air. The radiator on the Valkyries were about the same as the oil cooler on the Spyder and even when we ran two fans it was not an issue. This is the same fan that's used on a bunch of OEM motorcycles.

I did and it didn't help at all. I had to make a new bracket for the oil tank to make it fit too. Not worth the effort.

Don't want it for the Spyder - my son wants to fit one to his CRF450. They come from the factory with no radiator fan and it boils when riding dead slow. I just need the make and part number etc and approx dinsesions of the fan, if possible. Thanks.

Edit: found some here to do the job: http://www.spalusa.com/store/main.aspx?p=CategoryBody&c=FAMO

Yep. When the Spyder gets hot, just push the button and wind down the window!:roflblack:

Cheers;
