That's how they hide the brackets on the new fenders.
Our old fenders had all of the brackets "under" the fender. The new style fenders have the brackets "on top of" the fender.
I really dig the new fenders!

I wonder if there is any way whatsoever that the new fenders can be attached to the old brackets (modded)....doubt it, but still curious...

What he said .. The brackets now go on top of the fender and they are covered by the plastic track that has the LED tip.
the old brackets will not work :sour:.. The new ones are are a two part kit with spacers and longer bolts... The instructions are not the best, but easy to figure out.
The are very close to the tire (I have the stock size tire)..love the look.:D

I think that they moved to this setup in order to set the fender a bit closer to the tire for better aerodynamics...
It looks great! :2thumbs:

They also added a skirt on the inside of the tire, presumedly also for aerodynamics.

you are correct Scotty.. the fender kit comes with three plastic sections: one that goes on top of the tire and below the brackets + one that houses the front LED tip + one for the side wall. This last part covers a great deal of the tire facing the A arm.

It looks like the entire set-up provides less air resistance and water channeling towards the rider.. they are a huge improment compared to our original ones.

The previos model has a single bracket. The new set-up comes with two brackets that mount on the same spot with larger bolts and spancers.

like AKA1004 said..no more than $650. As per your FICO score, it can stay above 800 if you pay your credit card bill in full at the end of the month ;)

I like it very cool. I was looking at these as well. My spyder is gloss black and it looks like these are a matt black. I wonder how it would look though? What do you think?

I am guessing you can get them in glossy black as direct replacement for 20013 black/platinum RSS.
$250 for 2 fenders are pretty good and hopefully brp would charge same for glossy black ones???

They do look good but for $650.00 mine do look good as well ill spend the money on other mods and if my fenders start going south than maybe these new ones would be a likely upgrade.

Hi All,
I have been lurking around for quite awhile now and have learned so much about the Spyder through this forum. I am just about ready to pull the trigger on a 2012 rs and wanted to start modifying her ASAP ;). Anyways, my question pertains to both the fenders and rims. Can I install the new 2013 fenders and new 15" rims on the older 2012 and prior spyders? I've tried looking for the offset on the older rims compared to the newer rims and could not find it. Just afraid that the new rims might not clear the older brake set up. Any help would be appreciated and I look forward to learning more from all of you! Thanks again

Hi mellowcmb,
To answer your question yes the 2012 wheels are 14" and the new wheels are 15" so as to clear the larger rotors and Brembo calipers.
Using the new 1013 fenders and wheels should be no problem now u can upgrade to larger rotors an Brembo brakes on your 2012 RSS.

Hi mcaccamise, the brackets cost $399 and the fenders $249. Part number for the brackets is 219400359 and for the fenders is 219400423. Since they are OEM, you could get them from Bert's a site sponsor.
share with us pics after install:doorag:

Yea, same as the other fender lights stock... Basically the front white LED's light up. Don't flash or turn or anything though. All plug and play.

They have them in white too......;):D
