Hi Jim!
2010 RT here...
Question: Is there any cutting. drilling or other potential for extreme disaster with the installation?
My lack of mechanical apptitude is well-documented... :opps:

I to have limited mecanical skills. The directions are very clear, and there are pictures as well. I used a long drill bit that I had to cut a little shorter due to the front of the spyder only being up ten inches. The plastic belt guard has to be removed (3 screws) and about three inches cut off with a hack saw to provide clearance. Only two holes are drilled to mount the support braket. Piece of cake!

There is drilling involved with the RT Installation, the GS/RS clamps to the swingarm. You will need to clamp the bracket in place, scribe and then drill two 3/8" holes from the bottom up, through the piece of 1/8" angle underneath the belt and through bolt it with two 3/8" grade 8 bolts.
