Anyone bought or can recommend a jack or lift for 2012 spyder rss?

Couldn't resist the $59.99 price tag - about half the regular price for it. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet but the demo unit in the store looked sturdy and safe and it seemed to work well. I'll put it together later this morning and give it a try.

I bought this one after reading posts here on Spyderlovers and It is prefect! Just make sure you use the included tie down straps when jacking, for safety sakes!

I got mine from my Son for free. It's about 16 years old and has been used alot and was out of oil. I put jack oil in, now it's good as new. Make shure it does not move around when work in on your Spyder. I use block of wood or jack stands when working on my Spyder, it can slip off the jack. That's IMHO.

I did put the Harbor Freight Lift together and tried it out yesterday. It works fine, lifts the Spyder RT okay and is strong enough to get the job done. There is one problem with it, though, that could be a deal breaker for some folks. There is very little or no control over the speed with which the hydraulic jack is released and it basically just drops whatever is lifted uncontrollably. Rather than having a twist valve release like most hydraulic jacks do, it uses a foot pedal. According to the manual, when the pedal is pushed halfway down the pressure is completely released and the jack will just fall. When the pedal is pushed all the way down the release is modulated and is slower. The problem is that you can't get to the slower release point without going through the fast release point and I was unable to do anything other than just dropping it uncontrolled. For some types of jobs this would be unacceptable.

If you can live with the fast release, the price is still right, though. With a coupon it's only $59.99.

I never noticed what bikeguy posted above but thats probably because I've never lifted the Spyder so high that it coming back down quickly matters

I have this same one. The lifetime warranty by Craftsman is what made my decision.

I don't think the jack has the Craftsman Lifetime Warranty. That is the reason I went ahead and bought the Harbor Freight Jack. Same warranty.

I have 2 of these. Inexpensive-Works-Great-Release Height and hold beautiful!
Changing my NEW RT shocks to my GS with Evo sway bar and Putting my ELKA Stage 1 PLUS on the RT so I killed 2 Birds with $000 cost!:2excited:

If you purchased it through SEARS it comes with the lifetime Craftsman warranty. Harbor Freight does not offer the same.

The link I included is the Craftsman warranty info and it says it does not come with a life time warranty. It is one year just like Harbor Freight. :dontknow:

I have this one, also. It works great under the middle and in the front. I have not had a problem with the fast release/slow release.

If you purchased it through SEARS it comes with the lifetime Craftsman warranty. Harbor Freight does not offer the same.
Only Craftsman hand tools carry their lifetime warranty.

I have this same jack, and if you dont have the bike/Spyder jacked up high enough it will drop fast to the ground. The way I got around this is after your done working on the bike, jack the bike up higher. Then when you want to release the jack there is enough distance for it to get past the "fast" drop point and will slow down and lowere the bike better.
