I think that officer was being very nice to a person in need!
My cynical side wonders how long this poor fellow will own those boots before they're bartered off for a bottle though... :shocked:

The above article has a slightly different take on the homeless. Here, back in March, 2012 the mayor banned donations of food to homeless shelters.

Mayor Bloomberg is a tough guy to figure out,
Even I have to admit that he's been effective in a lot of areas where the government intrudes on our lives;
But he just doesn't seem to like people all that much! :gaah:

Just heard on the evening news, that homeless guy was spotted barefoot again yesterday. When asked where his new boots were he said he sold them for cash.
