This will keep the blow by oil out of the air box and I'll be able to see how much there really is and clean it without taking the airbox off. :doorag:

Hey Lamonster, I met you in Daytona. I'm the one with the FZ1 pipe on. Why did you have to take the crankcase breather off. Does it cause a problem? I have some oil leakage out of air box and wqas thinking of putting on a breather.

There was a little oil getting past the filter and making even more of a mess than I had before. There are other options.

Looks like the oil catch tank would be the way to go.... can get them on ebay really cheap....

I would ditch the filter they supply and route it into the airbox instead.

I'm going to do something similar - but use one with a visual gauge so I can empty it as needed.

I'll post pics once I get it.

Why back to the airbox. One of the purposes of using the breather filter is to vent the crankcase and not send back to the air box so you have clean fuel and air to burn. Not oil and moisture.

Because I don't think you'll ever catch 100% of the oil - and it needs to go somewhere - which is why they vent it up there in the first place. On our dirt bikes we used to have a tube that went down near the ground and it just dumped it - can't really do that here!

I just ordered an oil catch unit that looks like it will really be a slick setup. It does vent back into the airbox- but has a clear tank with an easy drain on the bottom. I'll post pics of the install and then watch it and check the airbox and see how much difference there is.

I had quite a bit of oil in the box when I checked it today.

is this a common problem i have not looked in my airbox have over 1100 mi ?and should i check it out is this a brp problem or is it just better and safer to do a mod similar to what others are
doing.is it a simple task to check out the inside of airbox

Just pull the side covers and look at the air box. you will see the seapage on each side

This is a common issue - with any bike or car that has a performance engine in it. You have to open your airbox to really see the oil.... but it will be there.
