I noticed when I had left side plastic off my 2010 RT there was a large waterproof fuseholder on the positive battery cable just forward of the battery. I assume that is the main fuse protecting everything "downstream". I though having a spare would be a good idea, but don't want to strip left side plastic if I don't have to---------Does anyone know what size and style this fuse is??? If I recall, it was a square style fuse--maybe 60 amp-- do the square style fuses come in both long and short versions?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks

There are several main fuses there. They are maxi-fuses. One of them is a special size (25 A), not readily available except from BRP. Personally, I don't think a spare is that useful for these, since blowing one is an indication of a major problem, unlikely to be fixed by the side of the road. Ihave spares, but I keep them in a cabinet in the garage, since the most likely chance of blowing one is when you are working on the Spyder...and do something stupid.

The fuse you describe would be the last one in the chain to fry.
By the time that one goes you'd be able to find the problem easily.

It would where two parts are spot welded to each other.

...and where the magic smoke is coming from...

:agree: Good points made by all of you---Thanks for making me realize I was over-analyzing my roadside repair kit content needs!

Thanks again!
