You're on a roll, Lamont. Are you going to sell them? Cost? When can I get a set?

Merry Christmas ... by the way!!

Since I don't have my Spyder yet, can you show a side view of yourself sitting in the normal position and then with the highway pegs? Thanks!

Looks kinda comfy.
Hows it on the road?

how did you move the brake pedal (i can't tell from you pictures)? any close up shots of the brake setup? we looked at making highway pegs but couldn't get around the problem (and liability) of adding an additional brake pedal. did you create another master cylinder or what?

regards,

ken zeller

You can click on any one those pictures to make them full size.

These are highway pegs and everything else is in the stock position. These are not foward controls.

Not having a front brake seems like a problem no matter what. I will have a front brake on mine but even on a cruiser with highway pegs you're not going to slam on the front brakes with your feet on the highway pegs. That's why forward controls are preferred over highway pegs. I think on the Spyder we don't have too many options so I used the only one I saw.

what about turning? the fender's dont hit your feet when in full turn?

I did a little over 100 miles on the highway with them yesterday and I love them. The first thing I noticed is I feel like I have more control over the Spyder and I'm not thrown around as much now. It may be because I'm a cruiser guy and this is what I'm use to.

Where I have them mounted now would be good for someone 5'9'' or under to feel like a real highway peg. I would like to get my feet out just a little more so I'm going to lower them about 2" first and I may move them forward an inch too. When I get done I will have it so if the wife is riding the Spyder I can leave them as is and if I'm riding the Spyder I'll be able to move the pegs forward without taking off any body panels.

There was no issue with turning and I have room to go forward and down without hitting the fender. It is a wide spread but not any worst than mu Valkyrie or Boss Hoss.

Here's some pics my son took of me comming back from the MX track.

These look great. I need a set of these brackets. After you get through moving them around, consider a small production run. Thanks, billclemen - Premiere Edition #538

I'll see what it would take to do a small production run of these. I have no idea how many sets to make. :dontknow:

I would order a pair as well (price...somewhat notwithstanding), Lamonster.

During the whole test ride I took, that's all I could think of: I need highway pegs!

If you are NOT selling 'em, (or If I can't afford your cool ones) we'd really appreciate some more photos and dimensions.

I'd try to draw up a set in Inventor, or have my son (a young CAD designer) draw them in SolidWorks , then have my daughter (a young machinist) machine them.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm going to make up a second set and send them to my buddy and he'll have some laser cut for us. Just need to see what the minimum will be to get it going.

I'm thinking they won't be too bad. It's an easy part, the hard part was figuring out how to do it and make it look right.

It's mounted to the frame to holes that are already there.

Thanks for you efforts and talking with me this afternnon.

The right side seems pretty straight forward as far as the bracket is a straight connection.
You mentioned a special connector you made as well as the bracket.
Was this more for the left side? also any pictures for the left?
Thanks again
