I've been looking at the Spyder for a while now - a good friend is considering selling their 2010 RT-S and I'm seriously looking into it. My only real question is that it is the model with the foot shifter, and I have some neuropathy in my left foot and ankle.

Is it possible to convert this setup somehow to a full pedal so all shifts are downward, or better yet a way to convert it to some sort of shift method (servo or similar) with a hand control?

I think you would be better off looking for an SE, from a monetary standpoint if nothing else.

Thanks, spacetrucker - if I'm going to pick one up it's going to be local.

NancysToy - I don't think anyone is going to beat my potential deal. I'd be saving almost $3k off of blue book.

i have a 2009 RT SE5, and unless your left thumb is missing, you'll have no problems.....

Would a "Heel/ Toe" shifter make it acceptable? In other words press with your heel to go "up" in gear and press with your toe to go "down" in gear. Saves having to pull up with your toe? Inspector Gadget sells an inexpensive Heel/ Toe shifter for the RT.:dontknow:

:welcome: I also think an SE5 would be better than trying to change it from a foot shift to something else. A heel toe shifter would not be bad if you can get one that works on the Spyder.
