I had it on the bar before and it was fine I guess but it looks much better here and now I can move my XM where the GPS was.

I had an iway600. Weighed a ton. Thought it was too heavy for a bike. Tied it on the bars also. Found it not to be steady enough. Anyhow, it was stolen out of my car. Have decided to get a zumo550. It is water resistant and can stand more shock. Would like to see a detail on your mount. Looks good!

I've run the iway on my Boss Hoss and my 109 and weight is not a problem. On my 109 I have it mounted in the middle of the bars but I didn't have time to do that at the dealer so I just used a Ram mount. That worked okay but I think it was giving me a little extra feedback on the bars and I didn't need that. I have a Ram mount drilled into the shield now and I think that's going to work much better. Here's the way I had it for the trip home from Tampa.

Lamont ... Did you attach it to the top of the dash? The top feels a little flimsy - like it is made to snap on and off
.. OR .. did you mount it to the windshield? If so, can you show a picture of the front of the shield? I've been looking for a way to mount my ZUMO in the middle. Never thought of mounting it to the shield.

I reshaped the Ram mount to conform to the windshield and then put a piece of rubber in between the mount and the shield so it could take up any imperfections. Drove it around yesterday and seemed to work fine. The shield is nice and thick and the Goldwing guys have been mounting iways and Garmins this way without any problems that I know of. :doorag:

Lamont...do you know off hand the part numbers for the ram mounts you used to attach to the windscreen? I plan on mounting my iWay the same.
TIA,
Ken
