Spyder Shifting Points

I am looking for a little advice on the ideal shifting points for the Spyder. I have had mine for a couple of weeks and would like to know the ideal RPM to shift. It feels like it should be around 5000 rpm but I not sure and want to run the Rotax 990 in optimal conditions. Please advise !!

When she hits the rev limiter, or red line which ever comes first.

5000 rpms feels right becuase it is right for smooth operation 4000-5000 is wher I am shifting and the motor sounds right.

I've been wondering the same thing. My guideline has been:
20MPH=2nd
30MPH=3rd
40MPH=4th
50MPH=5th

I pretty much do the same except I only shift to 5th when it's close to 60mph.

I don't know for sure but I saw 115 out if 4th gear and figured it was time to go to 5th, was right at red line. Still don't know what 5th will do, looking forward to finding out though.

We love to ride and play, my daughter has a 07 Springer Screaming Eagle and a Hyabusa. Nothing stays with the busa and we haven't put the spyder and the harley on the street together yet (it's been in the shop more than on the road, just had to put that gig in) so don't know about that match up. I do know that this spyder is great fun and is comparable to my 1800R VTX, very quick.

YOU CAN SHIFT THE SPYDER FROM ABOUT 3200RPM. IT WILL PULL EASILY FROM 2700RPM. THE 5TH GEAR IS LOW SO IT WILL PULL FROM 36MPH WITH NO ENGINE LUGGING. I USE THIS RULE OF THUMB WHEN I AM NOT IN A HURRY AND AVERAGE 38MPG. I AM RIDING AT 5000FT IN
NEW MEXICO, AND HAVE FOUND NO PROBLEMS SHIFTING AT THESE POINTS.

When I'm in no hurry and want better mileage, I shift to 4th at 30 and 5th at 40. this seems to give the best mileage around town.

Out on the open road, forget it! I usally go with 4th at 40, etc.

The Rotax pulls really well at the low speeds, unlike my VTX.
