I want to get a trailer to tow the bike behind a vehicle for camping.
Does anyone have any recommendations on trailering the Spyder?

One of my concerns since I do not have the bike and need to order a trailer is that going up the short 46" ramp might catch the underneath carriage.

Any suggestions on trailers?

This is just an FYI. I use an Open Road (made in Loyal WI) trailer for all my cycles, ATVs and such. It is defined as a 6 X 10 although it is actually 6.5 X 10. It comes in 2 different load classes. While mine is a 3500GVW, they made a lighter one also. The one I have, and why I write, is it has drop in ramps as a tail gate. So as it is delivered, it has 2 - 6.5 foot ramps. I then bought a treated 2X12 and bought the ramp tops available just about anywhere and cut the 2X12 to fit with the drop in ramps. Bottom line is I have a trailer that is only about 15 to 18 inches off the ground, easy to pull and use, I can ride a 2 wheel bike up with ramps for my feet, an ATV, Mower, side car rig or the Spyder when it shows up. The sides have many attachment points and the deck is treated wood. I added more tie down points on the deck and can shoe horn in 3 bikes if I have to and 2 are rather large. While I bought this about 7 years ago, it was under $900. I also have an aluminum 4X8 with a ramp that is handy but too small for the Spyder and I drive a Sprinter for 1 or 2 bikes but again, too narrow for the Spyder. The open trailer has been all over the US and is just plain simple and reliable. After 7 years there is some rust but if I spent some time with a wire brush and a spray can, I could fix that. I love aluminum but right now it is a bit pricey. I guess it depends on how often you will use the trailer and your economic well being. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I think I would go with an enclosed trailer. Just be mindful of the very detailed instructions on securing the Spyder for transporting. Check the Operaors Guide page 64.

I would suggest that you consider this one! www.ironhorsetrailers.com[/color][/url]. I have one and it is excellent and can be towed behind a Honda Civic or a Toyota Camry with ease.

i just purchased a adventure sports product trailer, air ride and lowers to the ground.
spyder fits great.
