What is the average life span of the stock battery in mild climates?

08 PE SM5,
No aftermarket lights and only one 12v outlet --------------------------------- Original Battery still in it.

I get a kick out of the people that are always talking about a dead battery only to find out they have their Spyder lit up like a Christmas tree and 4 charging ports for thier electronics.

08, original battery. 33K miles. Only 2 charging ports and one set of auxiliary light plus trailer lights. We don't ride on Christmas so no need for Christmas lights.

08 RS. Nothing on it but a gps. I just changed it just because I don't want to think about it failing. I did the same with the tail light bulbs.

If you really think you want to change go to page 5 on general section here and look at BEST BATT ON SALE post......there is a link to a motobatt for $110 on amazon.com...see LITTLEBAD WOLF'S ..POST,.. IMHO it's the cheapest strongest battery out there right now.....go take a look, it won't hardly hurt at all.....:roflblack:....Mike.......or maybe moved to page 6.

I am still running the original battery in the 2010 RT-S. Have 25,000 miles on the machine. I was thinking I would replace the battery at the end of the season before I put :spyder2: into winter hibranation with battery tender attached.

I guess you would call me proactive on this. I would rather replace rather than have a problem some morning when I try to start the :spyder2: up.

Can not recommend battery tenders strongly enough, up here in the North East they help your battery survive winter.

I have them on the Spyder, tractor, ATV etc I have the plugged in all the time while there in the garage.
