We have found a new way to cook sweet corn without putting up with the silk in it.
For every ear of corn, put them in the microwave for four minutes. when done, cut it on the bottom, about two inches. Then grab the silk and the corn slides out without any silk. Be careful because the corn will be hot. Enjoy

Bob,

No Wegmans in your area?

 No; What are they?
When we think of corn; it pretty much means that a cornstalk has got to be nearby and recently taken to task...

That's culture shock for you! Much of our corn has just been planted, and little is out of the ground yet. We won't have tomatoes until July.

That's true; their growing season can be a bit more ambitious down there... :2thumbs:

By June - July most everything is gone...except peppers and orka...maybe eggplant...but 1st of July is usually when the figs are ready...then we generally take off to cooler weather...head north...this year we head west and north.....then we start planting for fall garden in early September...this year it will be after Lamont's bar-b-que...we almost didn't have a winter this year....
