Yesterday at our Fire and Rescue HQ (Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service) based in Reading, Berks UK
we had a vist from Alf Gasparro who has set up a new safety scheme called HELI-BIKES
Alf is one of the Pilots who works on the Thames Valley (Berks,Bucks & Oxon) Air Ambulance service

He gave an excellent talk and presentation and although the scheme is based in a couple of regions in the UK - Interest has been shown
from Other UK Regions, European Countries and the USA/Canada to set up the same type schemes there

To find out more about HELI -BIKES log into http://www.helibikes.co.uk/

You will find various links to other motorcycle safety information

Doesn't the UK also have a graduated scheme of licensing, so that a new rider can't go out and buy a litre bike with a top speed in excess of 160 mph? Given the riding ability of most people who finish the MSF beginning rider course and have their license but no experience, I wish we had something like that in the US.
