Just got back from 600 mile svc and the cost was 149.99.
How does that compare with other dealers.
freemont Motorsports charges the same hourly charge as for any other motorcycle they work on.
$64.40 an hr..

Holy smokes, that's a rollback to the mid 90s around here. :yikes:
$100 and up for work in the Atlanta area and the watercraft are even higher :cus: . The Spyder 3 year maintenance agreement probably is in the middle somewhere, but that's a heck of a price. Enjoy it while it's in effect.

That is a great hourly shop rate. The shop rate at the dealership, in Arizona, that I bought my 2012 RT-S is $110 per hour.nojoke

Dealer rate: $120/hr

Just got the 600 mile service yesterday - $295.00. They charged 12.99 for each quart of oil, and listed 5 quarts on the invoice. When I questioned how the put in 5 qts of oil, they said they had to charge for the full qt for the 0.1 extra called for in the manual. No problem, says I; please give me the rest of the quart that I paid for. Needless to say, they could not produce such a thing, so they ended up giving me a quart of oil and an apology. Ya, gotta watch 'em.

In all fairness, this is the first "problem" that I have encountered there. Until now, they have really been pretty good about customer service and doing the right thing.

A charge of a full qt. for the extra .1 qt. when they get it out of a DRUM???? Glad you caught them at their "profit" game.

When I purchases my Rs at Mountain Motorsports in Conyers in March, I opted for the Prepaid Maintenance plan that they offered. I think it was around $1400 or so. I'm glad I did now because that covers the first 6 services and how I took it, a couple of those are over $1000. I just took it a week ago and got the 600 mile service and 12 volt outlet installed.

I paid $66.00 for oil and filters, I have an SE5, and did it my self. With the tools I had to buy the average is $78.50 an oil change for the next 50,000 miles and I use Amsoil.

had my 600 mile service done last saturday -- $70 per hour -- help me out with this one ?

parts used

2 copper washers
2 oil filters
2 o rings
4 quarts oil -- 4t 12 x 1 blend

total cost in parts was $75.60

what the hell -- why 2 of everything but all differant part numbers ? sorry i didnt look it up in the manual , so i dont know what was needed.

they said 2 hours labor for checking all bolts , changing the oil and adjusting the drive belt .

total cost of service was -- $233.69 -- so i didnt complain , but when i got home i looked at the invoice and saw 2 or everything .

You have 2 drain points--the engine and the dry sump. Also, the automatic has 2 filters. the drain plug washers need changing and the filters have o-rings.
I did my 600 mile check yesterday and I had at least 3 hours in it. Lots of plastic covers to remove. The highlights are:
oil change
filters
oil sump screen
drive belt tension
check coolant and bolts
