View Full Version : 2x backfire, sputtering, uh oh
Hi all,
Had 2 backfires while under speed.
When back in the garage a slight smell of gas and muffler seems hot, sputtering at idle, perhaps a little hesitant too.
No codes.
2010 RS-S, with ~8315 miles, bone stock, no problems (until now).
Bad gas???, he though hopefully...:dontknow:
Thanks,
Y

Are you feeling any extra heat on the legs? If so check your y-gaskets.

I'd suspect bad gas first. I'd look at the ignition wires and spark plugs next. Beyond that there are some other possibilities that leave no codes.

:agree: With over 8 thousand miles on the stock gaskets there due.
Hi,
Is this the Honda part number 18392-MAM-000 the one to use for a 2010 RS-S with SE5?

Question:
Is this a GS/RS issue, or are the RTs affected as well?

I think someone posted a while ago that the GS/RS use a different size gasket than the RT',s .
The Honda's won't fit. :dontknow:

Thanks! Now that you mention it... :opps: I should have been paying better attention in class...
Hi,
Filled the tank with high test and Sta-Bil ran it, let it sit for a day or two.
Used it for a 60 mile trip on Friday and it seems to be back to normal.
BTW: I have seen in other posts that the Honda's are supposed to work with RS.
I had already bought a couple so when it's due I'll post my experience.
Thx for the replies.
Best,
Y
