That happened to the famous aviator Dick Rutan in 1986 when he piloted the Voyager aircraft around the world non-stop. He was tired and stressed from lack of sleep and while traveling over a rather unfriendly section of Africa he thought he saw a fighter jet and thought he was going to be shot down. He went into avoidance maneuvers before he finally realized it was only Venus.

When a pilot is THAT tired; maybe they shouldn't be attempting to do whatever it is that they're doing... :shocked:
Stunts attemped for the sole purpose of gainig fame can often backfire and hurt innocent bystanders in the process.
