Anyone know the scoop on the best octane rating for an RT? Only had it for a couple weeks and I'm seeing different opinons. The book says 92 but the dealer said to run any octane. Thanks

My book says 91 and so I use prem. which is 93. Anything else is below that level. Paid to much to go against the book. One of the things I had to get use to. All my other bikes took Regular. (Goldwings)

I think the manual recommends 91 octane ''minimum'', Use whats recommend in the manual!

The RT will run on lower octane fuel, but performance will be degraded due to the adjustments it makes to do so. (91 octane or higher is recommended (premium fuel). Just a side note...if you put on 12,000 miles a year and get 25 mpg, you only spend $96 more a year for premium that costs $0.20 a gallon more. I say go for the premium fuel.

My 2011 handbook, page 159, says "optimum performance 91"
"minimum 87".

Suggest you try diff octanes to see what works best for your type riding. I'm not a spirited rider so 87 works for me.
