Who is going to Spyderfest from VA, WV or NC?

I was just told today that my buddy that lives 1/2 mile from me can't make the spyderfest this year due to a work conflict. I was thinking of leaving on Sunday April 22nd. I am open to any route but prefer the back roads to enjoy the scenery. I was also thinking of checking out Branson, MO or possibly some other areas along the way or on the way back.
