I have a 2010 RT it is two years old. How long does the battery last? Just wondering if I should change it now or wait another year? I use the bike quite often. Here in Louisiana we don't have a winter. I have 20k miles on it.

Gene, with that many miles, I think you're good to go. Batteries have an undisclosed lifetime. I have had some motorcycle batteries last over 4 years, some less than 2. If you ride instead of putt-putt around I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree with Dudley. I replace them when they fail, rather than on a timetable. Some last a long time and some fail quickly. If you are in a critical situation, like heading out on a cross country trip with a three year old battery, you might wish to replace one preventively, though. Same if the Spyder is your only mode of transportation.

I know those black box's they call a battery are strange things, but 3 times in a year is more times than i change my underwear.
