It is moving. Someone needs to tell the young man, you never call a Sgt. , or any NCO for that matter, SIR.

It's a great reminder to all of us.

Back in the 1950's, Tex Ritter and perhaps others did the song: "Deck of Cards" If you can find that anywhere, it will even add to the emotion.

Back in the 60's, Some Basic Training Units, Had their recruits call the Sgts Sir.
I remember in 66 before we went over seas to stop the Domino's from falling, We turned over some billets to a BT unit, And had to inspect the bullets together, They kept calling me sir, drove me nuts.

For those of us who do call people SIR its a term of respect .... We dont know if you were in the military we just want to respect ;P. If we were able to see your rank somehow im sure I would definately call a retired vet sir !!!!! Either way there is nothing but Love and respect for all the current and future Vets out there !!!!

First of all, I thank those who posted the videos. this was the time, I saw the first posting and second posting with photos. They ave very emotial,
Thank You all again.

It was somewhat a joke about SGTs being called Sir. The promotion "system ???" was different for enlisted and the officiers. The term, Sir" is mark of respect. It is a mark of respect when a General comes up to the PGR Flag lines and states, Thank you, Sir.

My Dad used to literally play Tex Ritter's Deck of Cards on a 45 once a month every month. Funny the things you remember when they are gone.
