I was just wondering what are the 3 top Mods that you really like and 3 reasons whay you are riding the RT...

The reasons I am on an RT

1. Needed to get off 2 wheels, just riding too fast and pushing the limits.
2. Safety, Safety
3. More comfortable and secure two up (protection for my spouse)

Top 3 Mods (This is a hard one)

1. Utopia Backrest
2. HMT Brakelight
3. Seal Boards
4. Lamont's ISP Cover
5. Carbon Fiber Dash Kit

Reason for a R/T
Getting older, safer ride with the wife on the back...( Can't have anything happen to her.)
Easyier for other people to see you. BIGGER..

Top three modes
Costom Dynamitic Brightsides & mud flap lites, ( People see you better )
Spyderprops Bumpskid, ( Protects the front end )
Utopia backrest, ( makes my ride easier )

Great thread, you are going to get some good answers on this one:yes:

The reason for an RT
1. Safety - I have short legs and an RT does not care ;)
2. Comfort
3. Love the style of the RT and the storage

Top 3 Mods - Wow! This is hard
1. Corbin heated seat with backrest
2. Seal Floorboards
3. Any of my lights that I added: bright sides, mudflap lights, fender channel lights, but especially the HMT brake light!
4. Spyderpops heat management system - this would have definitely been in my top three if summer was here and you asked.
5. My graphics that I got from Powersports Wraps - it made it my own instead of looking like anyone else's.
6. I could go on and on, and expect when I get my Elka's next month that they will be on my list as well.

I agree, this is a great thread. Will be interested to see what others chose as there top 3.

Reasons:
1. Best two-up, bad weather, and trailer towing machine on the planet!
2. Most comfortable machine I have ever owned.
3. Tremendous cargo capacity.

Mods:
1. ESI Mudflap Lights and HMT Brakelight.
2. Starcom1 Comm System (with Spyder audio piped into it).
3. RT-622 Trailer.

Reasons:
1. Two up safety. My wife wouldn't consider a two wheeler.
2. Loved the looks of the RS, but when the RT came out, it was just TOO comfortable.
3. 10,000 miles last summer with my wife doing something together that we both enjoy. Priceless.

Mods:
1. ISCI hand brake. Having a partially paralyzed right leg makes this a must have for me.
2. Custom paint by Len Damouth and Danny Farris. Gave me a unique look I was searching for.
3. The RT Performance Package and Elka Shocks. The RT runs like a bat out of Hades now, and has the suspension to handle it!

Great thread! :clap::clap::clap::spyder::clap::clap:

Went to a Spyder because:
It solves my limited use of the right hip and possible scarring of my old tired body when I might drop my Road Glide. Still for sale by the way!
It's unique and handles like a charm
My wife will ride on it - no deal on a HD, but she liked Goldwings too.

Three best mods:
ISCI brake kit. Still looking for adjustable lever for it - any ideas?
ELKA shocks
Digital voltmeter and oil pressure guages. Why would you build a bike so "electrically dependent and finicky" and then not install a voltmeter?
Happy I got the Spyder - just a few micky mouse problems, nothing earth shattering. :ohyea:

Three reasons to own one...
1. The Missus fell in love with it as soon as she saw it!
2. The accumulation of health-related issues makes it impossible for me to hold up a big touring rig...
3. I really dig "new and different"! :2thumbs:

Best modifications??
Tht's tough; they're all pretty great! :roflblack:
1. My ISCI floorboards
2. My new vinyl graphics from Powersportswrap.com
3. Since I bought an A&C model; I've been upgrading it to "S" amenities... They all have been great!

Now I'm down to wheels and the ACS left to do...

I agree with John - it's comfort - the RS could never be made to fit me, or offer reasonable comfort.

Mods: Corbin seat w/lamont cut, Works shocks, Kwelmetal adaptor plate for my GPS & coffee cup. With the RT, nothing else is needed.

Many different reasons for purchasing the RT, but the two most important reasons for me are Safety in all weather driving conditions and flat out 2 up touring comfort.

As for mods, well if I had to pick just one it would definitely have to be the Utopia driver's back rest.

Why I ride an RT:
1. It don't fall over when we stop.
2. Best and most comfortable 2-up touring machine I've ever owned.
3. Very visible to other motorists.

Best mods:
I don't really have any. It doesn't need them all that much, but one of these days I'll save up enough money to get some Elka or Works Performance shocks.
