Spyderfest Rides 2012

During our March planning meeting the rides were finalized and the info has gone to the printer. We have 4 led rides planned during Spyderfest, not counting the passport runs or the final group ride. There will be 2 rides on Thursday and 3 rides on Friday, I know that adds up to 5 (I can explain). One of the rides was so popular last year we decided to repeat it this year and do it both days. The Ride Captains will be releasing more information about their rides over the next couple of weeks, so if there is a ride that your interested in you may need to pry the information out of the Ride Leaders. I think we have come up with some of the best roads in the Ozarks keeping out of the highly populated areas as much as possible. It's almost time for the fun to begin!

Last year I went on the Meramec Cavers Ride and had a great time touring the caverns. I also wanted to do the "Jefferson City- Capital Ride", but wasn't clear if it was also a tour of the State Capital. Found out it was. Yep. Each of the ride captains will be posting their routes over the next couple of weeks. Plans are to put a link to the google map somewhere in each post for you to see.

So be sure to keep scanning SpyderLovers for the posts!

As a fairly new bee, I want to pick rides that won't necessarily leave me behind or sliding on my butt down the road trying to keep up. I may be 'spirited' but I'm not really a spirited rider...

The Rock Ride and The Herman ride will probably be a bit more leisurely than the Alley Springs Ride. ;)

Don't want anyone to be scared off by the chatter that goes on, no one is going to be breaking any laws or endangering other riders. I will admit my ride may be more spirited than most and will be a ride for the sake of riding. The rest of the rides are more geared toward a destination. All of the ride leaders are what you might say a little mature with Stevemac believe it or not the youngest. We tried to pick routes that would be fun and chose some of our favorite roads, hopefully at least one of the rides will be appealing for everyone.

I plan on going on the Alley Springs Ride Thursday and the Rock Ride Friday, and if anyone has the power to give SierraSunshine the day off on Friday, I have volunteered my back seat for her on Friday for the Rock Ride so she can finally go on a ride during SpyderFest. She should be awarded for her work that has caused her to sacrifice her time on here. :)
