Surfing Ebay and found this ad. This person is selling the instructions for a frunk spring mod. No parts included and you only receive instructions on how to do it via email with this $9.95 purchase.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Can-Am-Phantom-Spyder-Hood-Seat-Spring-Release-INSTRUCTIONS-/190641046718?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2c631784be

I know free enterprise is the American way, but I would like your opinions on this. People that do not know of this site or that BRP sells the parts and instructions for less than $5.00 are going to purchase this. I wonder if the seller got the instructions from this site ???

Didn't you see the title? It's for Phantom owners only :joke: :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Seriously though, I can see maybe charging a couple of bucks, but $9.95, that's crazy!! Not to mention he/she has already sold 2! Wouldn't it be something if the email they sent you for instructions included a link to the SpyderLovers thread.

But there's a market for stuff like this because there's also a lot of very lazy folks out there who wouldn't take the time to research the issue for solutions! :gaah:

That reminds me of the old classified ad scam for the universal coat hanger for $9.95. The ad had a long description of how great this coat hanger was, listed all the things that could be hung from it and how it could be located almost anywhere.

The buyer got a 6 inch spike with instructions on how to nail it into the wall. :yikes:

Sounds like an old Judge Judy case. Someone ordered a used cellphone for $75.00 and received a pictrure of the cell phone. Judy could not break the perpetrator down that this was wrong or deceitful. The seller kept insisting the customer got the cellphone they ordered. Caveat Emptor :roflblack:

My thoughts?
Do you REALLY want to know ?

My thoughts..... The price is what it is and the buyers are getting what to them is a good value or they wouldn't be buying it.

HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU WANT FOR SEAL FLOOR BOARDS ?
Come on..... a couple of pieces of sheet metal....GET REAL.
But, there is design work in it, the knowledge to shape the right piece of metal into the right shape and the law of supply and demand and the manufacturer has the right to make a profit. The buyer chooses whether or not its a good value.

HOW MUCH FOR A BELT TENSIONER?

HOW MUCH FOR ELKA SHOCKS?

HOW MUCH FOR A UTOPIA,BACKREST?

HOW MUCH FOR A SPYDER?

The buyer chooses to pay for what is perceived as value.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong, and I'm certain someoneb will let me know if I am

I saw that as well on Ebay...the same person also has the same instructions listed at 14.95 and I believe 18.95 in an effort to test the market and see what people will pay for the info I presume. Personally I would probably not purchase it but If it was a problem for me what is 9.95 help to solve a small problem on a 25k machine??? He probably won't sell tons of them but bet he does sell a few. I know seems like allot for just info...but really what can you buy these days with 10 bucks. :gaah:

One last thing I will mention...what something is worth is decided by what someone is willing to pay for it.
